realme completes first year in Bangladesh setting trend as a Youth Brand

Staff Repoter :: Beginning the journey on February 24, 2020 youth-favorite global smartphone brand realme has carved out a special niche for themselves in the Bangladeshi smartphone market within only a year by registering phenomenal growth and occupying a good percentage of market share. Besides, realme is the only mobile brand who has created a stir in the market by launching maximum 12 smartphones and 5 smart devices in 2020. Each smart device has won the hearts of young people in their specific price range.

In its first year in Bangladeshi market, realme has sold a good number of smartphones creating records. Around 3,000 realme C17 units were sold within only a minute at Daraz in 2020, while 1,500 units of realme 6 were sold in just under a minute in this online marketplace. Both the smartphones created records in Daraz online sales in its price range. The C17 belongs to the C Series of realme which are the range of handsets for entry level users, whereas realme 6 is from the number series are for mid-level users who use apps and features which require more than basic specs. The last phone they launched during their first year in Bangladesh was the narzo 20 with G85 gaming processor which sold 2000 units in 2 mins in Daraz, making it the fastest selling gaming phone in Daraz. The narzo series are the range of gaming phones with fast processors and features which enhance the gaming experience.

realme is literally flying high as they have registered meteoric growth in the last one year which has helped them bag one of the top four positions in Bangladesh market. According to data provided by Counterpoint Research, realme within the first quarter of 2020 grew by 1000 percent in Bangladesh. The growth rate in next quarter was 250 percent and the growth was maintained in the subsequent quarters.
As a result, realme has been capable of occupying a significant portion of market share. In the second quarter, the market share of realme was 6 percent which has increased exponentially. Consequently, realme has become one of the top smartphone brands in Bangladesh. Just a few days ago, they snatched away a place in the ‘Top 10 TWS Brands’ in terms of shipments for Q3 2020 (according to Counterpoint Research).

According to independent sources, young generation aged between 18-25 are fans of realme smartphones and AIoT products. That’s why Counterpoint highlighted the possibility that ‘realme could repeat its smartphone success to become 2021’s dark horse in wearables.’ Fans and users are most important to realme and they take feedback from their fans and users regularly through surveys, online and offline shops and reviews.

On the occasion of successful one year of their journey, realme is hopeful about replicating their performance.
